Bob Costas to interview Ernie Harwell

I haven't read this thread yet. I just watched the "interview". I'd say it was more like a conversation. I think Costas asked maybe two questions. The rest were conversational type statements and then Ernie just added to the conversation.

Very well done by Costas. Most impressive was Ernie reciting the baseball "poem". Notable was the way Ernie handled the Bo situation. He was very "southern" in painting Bo as petty, stubborn, and prideful.

In Bo's defense, he was probably doing the correct thing(trying to make a break with the past), but starting with the radio play-by-play announcer was just monumentally stupid.

Can you imagine what would've happened to this site if the Internet was around when Bo fired Ernie?

Costas is the jerk who spent the entire 1987 playoff series trashing the Tigers-he can go 'you know where'.
