According to Rod Allen's twitter, Verlander and Jackson are All-Stars with one more name to follow...

Wakefield doesn't deserve to make it... he just wins games but his stats are not good.

Strange how it works. Grandy was more deserving in 2007 or 2008 but this was probably a numbers crunch.

So the Tigers who made it are-
Granderson
Verlander
and Jackson?

Inge on the final ballot along with Kinsler (who I think will win), Adam Lind, Figgins and former Tiger Carlos Pena.

I LOVE that Jackson and Granderson are in, but I'm bummed that Inge missed. I am going to vote the heck out of that final vote. Shenanigans.

Boy, Inge doesnt have much of a chance. Kinsler is the bigger name, and Pena's stats are better, plus Figgins plays in a bigger market.

Inge is in the final vote:
Fans face tough choice with Final Vote | MLB.com: News
Quote:
Brandon Inge, 3B, Tigers
Inge, still looking for his first All-Star selection, has earned his reputation as one of baseball's best defensive third basemen, and his fielding skill was a big reason behind his return to the hot corner this season in a revamped lineup on a resurgent Tigers team that has been steady atop the AL Central. His 154 assists and 25 double plays topped all AL third basemen entering Sunday, and his regular appearances on highlight reels for his acrobatic plays can't hurt in a balloting battle that lasts just four days.
Yet what has separated this season from many for Inge is his bat, powering a career turnaround at the plate. He has 18 homers and 52 RBIs, both on course for personal bests. Only Longoria and Toronto's Scott Rolen entered Sunday with a higher OPS among AL third basemen than Inge at .868.

Inge has some name recognition from all of the Web Gems, but I'm still not optimistic considering Verlander and Liriano lost out to AJ a few years ago.

I cannot believe Inge did not get in. Grandy probably could have been left out and I would have understood that. Inge, Verlander and Jackson should have all been locks. Ridiculous.

I just voted 100 times. It's real easy, because if you just click "vote again", it leaves your info populated (other than resetting your preference to have them mail you crap, which I just gave up on). I figure I'll do this each day.
I honestly don't care for Inge throughout his career, but I'll be darned if I don't think he should be an all-star as a third baseman this year.

Young is statistically the worst defensive 3rd baseman in baseball and is always among the worst defensive 3rd baseman. And, there offensive numbers are close. If anything, Inge has had the better offensive season. Just idiotic.

Looks like pretty stiff competition for Inge - Kinsler, Pena, Lind, and Figgins. That is a tough crowd to beat.

Youkilis over Cabrera is a joke.

Inge deserved to make the team more than Granderson, who was much more deserving in 2007 & 2008.
I'm glad to see that Jackson made the team. He has been the Tigers' most consistent starter this year; it's too bad he doesn't get any run support because he deserves to have more than six wins.

Jackson and Verlander defintely belong. Granderson is borderline but Hunter is the only center fielder having a great year so it's not a stretch to put him on the team as the second center fielder. Inge should have made it. Cabrera could have made it but there are lot of good first basemen so it's no crime to leave him off.

Sometimes they look at career numbers and just flat out talent and that means Cabrera should be in every year, especially when his numbers are just as good as the other guys this season. Maddlon left Inge off and put Young on for the same reason I think Cabrera should be on. No consistency.

To be fair, while I generally agree with your point, its easier to do that with Young when he doesn't play a position where in the same league stands Mark Teixiera, Justin Morneau, Carlos Pena, and Kevin Youkilis.
Not that I'm diminishing Cabrera's greatness, but if say, Mike Schmidt (Teixiera), George Brett (Youkilis), Dean Palmer (Pena), and Graig Nettles (Morneau) were all playing simultaneously in the same league, I think that picking guys on past performance or name-reputation at Third Base like Young would not happen as easily.
