MotownSports.com Contest! How many games will the Tigers win in 2009?
CONTEST
How many games will the Detroit Tigers win during the 2009 regular season?
In the event of a tie, the following tie breakers will be used to determine a winner:
Tie Breaker (#1): How many games will the Tigers win at home during the 2009 regular season?
Tie Breaker (#2): Who will lead the Detroit Tigers in Home Runs during the 2009 regular season?
Tie Breaker (#3): Who will lead the Detroit Tigers in Saves during the 2009 regular season?
Tie Breaker (#4): Who will lead the Detroit Tigers in Stolen Bases during the 2009 regular season?
RULES
The person who correctly guesses the number of wins for the Detroit Tigers during the 2009 regular season, or the person who comes closet to guessing the total number of wins without exceeding the total, will be declared the winner.
In the event of multiple winners, the four tie breakers listed above will be used in order as needed to determine the grand prize winner and the runner-up prize winner.
Your guess for number of games the Detroit Tiger will win during the 2009 regular season along with each of the four tie breakers must be submitted in this thread prior to the first pitch thrown on April 6, 2008.
In the event that we still have multiple winners after the tie breakers have been applied, the prize winners will be determined by the submission date/time of their guess. The first ones submitted will be declared the winners. If your entry was edited after its original submission, your entry date/time is determined from when your edit(s) were last submitted.
Only contest guesses should be posted in this thread. No conversation please.
Any entries submitted after the first pitch on April 6, 2008 will not be allowed (game time is 7:15pm).
Only one entry allowed per person. If a person is found to have submitted multiple entries using multiple accounts, they will be disqualified from this contest and will face banishment from this website.
These rules are subject to amendment and/or clarification if necessary.
PRIZES
Grand Prize: One 14K Gold Old English D charm
Runner-up: Prize TBD
This grand prize was created and donated by MotownSports.com member Rhino (of Monte Cristo Jewelers). It was carved by hand from a piece of wax and then cast in a solid 14 karat yellow gold. Black enamel was then added for contrast and to help bring some extra detail into the design.
Monte Cristo Jewelers can be found at:
23077 Greenfield Road, Suite 375
Southfield, MI 48075

More than last year, but much fewer than I predicted last year!
Let's say 89 wins
47 at home, with Thames leading the Tigers in Home Runs, Rodney in Saves, and Anderson in SBs...
EDIT: and YES, I also picked Thames last year, and yes, he was close...

88-75. (Includes winning the tie-breaker against Cleveland on October 5 at Comerica).
48 wins at home. Make that 49 (see above).
Thames. (Just to be different.)
Gaudin. (C'mon, it's the third tie breaker, have some fun.)
Granderson.
EDIT: Thames would have been different if JayVee7777 was not a quicker poster.
