We're actually rooting for the Sox more vigorously than WSI is.

Hey, here's a win-win for us. If AJ gets plunked, the Sox get a man on base!

Freddy sets the Twins down in order.
And a little piece of Yoda dies inside.

I love me some White Sox.
Twelve outs left in Minneapolis. Let's do it, Pale Hose.

The Sox have made it a 3-out game in Minneapolis.

Twins can not be happy with the way Boof pitched tonight. He has to be much better in Game 2 at Yankee Stadium. I still have faith in him. I think this team is simply tired and just want to get to the playoffs.

At this point, there's no reason to give up on the idea of Game 2 at the Metrodome, vs. Oakland.
The Twins have two days to make up one game on a team that's pitched abominably bad in the past three days. Not exactly an insurmountable task.
I still like our chances. But who knows anymore.

Yeah, with Miner starting tomorrow...
Of course the fact the Royals are starting Burgos probably doesn't fill Twins fans hearts with glee.
Anyways, I was happy to see JI
JIM THOME come through with a RBI tonight after I chose to sport his fine image as my avatar. :)

dt: I tell ya what. I want the Yankees. I really do. I want my team to get the opportunity to beat them in the first round. There are lot of benefits in beating them early. Not to say Oakland is easy because they are not. I just feel with the Twins beating NY, they will get national attention for it which is why I want the Yankees. Even Carl Pohlad wants the Yankees.
I am not worried about winning the division. I just want my team just to play good baseball. I have to see the game tommorow and find out about Boof. I really wish he pitched better.
BTW, I get a kick out of White Sox fans at WSI enjoying a meaningless win against the Twins. Twins can care less if they win the division or not just based on my impression on watching them. They should be embarassed that their team played with emotion tonight against the Twins than they had all season. Where was that all year? They finally showed up tonight on a game that never mattered.

The White Sox won a big game against one of the best teams in baseball with really nothing at stake from themselves other than pride.
Meanwhile the Tigers totally blew it against one of the very worst teams in baseball, with everything at stake.
Shame on our Tigers tonight. Not the Sox. They stepped up. We didn't. We failed.

Let me tell you something. The Royals have played well in the last few months. KC almost got a split against the Twins.
As for the White Sox, why they needed to wait till tonight to play hard against the Twins. Where was that all season? I never see them hustled hard or pitch great against the Twins till tonight.

They were talking on the radio today (1270) about how it appeared Ozzie was trying to throw this game. The entire lineup was AAA players (ALL the stars were benched, except for Garland on the mound). They still won anyway. I hope the stars are back tomorrow ...

It's looking more and more like we might actually need the Sox to pull this one out for us, not that they haven't gone above and beyond the call of duty already. The fact that our postseason fortunes may hang in the balance of what should have been a meaningless game 700 miles away is absurd and embarassing.
