Without doing the math, I figure we play the Twins, Soxs and the Royals at home around 30 times. Every third game at home is against these guys. I wish they would go back to a balanced schedule.
Son, if I'd only gotten to be a doctor for five minutes... now that would have been a tragedy.

The balanced schedule makes no sense at all unless you also eliminate divisions (which is not a bad idea). Again, we dump Montreal and Tampa Bay, dump interleague play and have two 14 team leagues. Each team plays each other team in the league 12 times. Top 4 teams make the playoffs (I'd prefer two but most modern fans have a craving for expanded playoffs).
As far as this year's schedule goes, I notice the Tigers don't play the two titans until July and August. It looks like there may be some fireworks on July 4. Coors Field ! Danny Klassen and Warren Morris will go wild !Lee Panas

Actually it would be games Thursday and Saturday. Friday is an off day, in case there is 8 inches of snow on the ground Thursday.Originally posted by DetroitFolly

It's just great that the Tigers get a nice long huge streak without an off day right at the end of the year. That streak starts in TB for 3, then home for 8, to Cleveland for 3, Chicago for 3, then back home for 3.
Still, it seems better than last year... If I recall correctly, we had like a 24 game streak last year. Still, you'd think the schedule makers would try to put more off days in September to accomidate rainouts and such.
