January 2012 Successes

I picked up a few Andres Torres autographed 2002 Topps Traded cards on SCN. The 2nd and 3rd are available for trade. The 2nd has the strongest auto, but as the photo shows, there's a very minor smear at the end - it should be fixable. The 3rd is a short version auto but it does have the "d" in Andres, which the first 2 don't.

Anyway, if anyone's interested in trading, I'd like any auto Topps Tiger cards that I don't have. There hasn't been a TTM success for Torres on SCN since 2002.

Can you even get anything signed on this caravan? I thought I heard they said absolutely not. Maybe that's not right, but I'd be interested to know the truth

No, you're not supposed to at all. I had to do some questionable things to get some stuff done. Even then, they've got staff members around them at all times telling them they have to go. You will not get a player to just stop and sign for a few minutes.

Today at the Palladium, Cabrera signed for a few people. He was the only one though. He side paneled the balls

They made a stop at the Capitol two years ago and I was able to grab one or two guys prior to the actual event. It wasn't easy and none of the guys that were there today were worth the effort and shirking policy.

Today was tough because most of the players where in big groups and I didn't want to single just one guy out when I had stuff for each guy. Just got the 2 guys that were by themselves and weren't double fisting Starbucks.

Today brought Joe Oliver, former Tigers catcher from 1998 and 1990 WS Champ. He was signed as a FA in the 1997 offseason by Detroit and then released in late July. He still has a Tigers card out there, so don't be fooled by his short lived Tigers career.

both were in a dollar bin.

Oliver was Oliver. He signed, but he's never too pleased about it. Alburquerque looked to be in great shape, just a little wrap on the elbow, said he felt great. He sure has a crappy graph though, reminds me a little of Valverdes sig. Sent a PM regarding the card.
