The Yahoo Wrap-up against San Jose:

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- The San Jose Sharks were three goals down, and their starting goalie had been lifted. Then Josh Gorges took a shot that was sailing wide -- and it somehow caught the top end of Dominik Hasek's stick and caromed into the net.

One bizarre bounce triggered an avalanche of goals -- nine straight, to be exact -- on a revitalizing, record-setting night for the Sharks and Patrick Marleau, their steady captain.

Marleau had a goal and three assists while becoming San Jose's career scoring leader, and Joe Thornton contributed four assists during the Sharks' rally from a three-goal deficit to a 9-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

Well this doesn't look good for our benefit.

one thing I hate about west coast trips is that the games are so late I'd never catch them even if I wanted to (I find myself falling asleep by the 2nd period)

The long road trips through three different time zones might be the Wings' best argument for moving to the Eastern Conference. However, losing a huge road following on the west coast would be inevitable if they switched conferences. I hate west coast road trips.

Anyways, back to the point: 0-2 on our five-game road trip. Not a good way to start it off, boys. Let's take care of the Ducks tonight, eh?
