What about Will Bynum?
What about Will Bynum? - Detroit Bad Boys
A lot more at the link.Lawrence Frank initially balked at sliding Rodney Stuckey into a sixth-man role and keeping Kyle Singler in the starting rotation. Why? He answered with a question: "What about Will Bynum?" Let's answer that question for Frank, shall we.
The Pistons have won two games this season -- both with rookie Kyle Singler starting at shooting guard. Initially, he replaced a flu-ridden Rodney Stuckey.
It was only natural that fans of a then 1-8 team would want to stick with what worked and keep Singler in his starting role. Coach Lawrence Frank, however, dismissed the idea, including shooting back with a pointed response of, "What about Will Bynum?"
I like Singler starting with Stuckey coming off the bench. I like a lot of you, have said that should be the role Stuckey plays on any team. Plus, I think the offense runs better with Singler in as a starter. Obviously 3 games is a small sample size, but I want to see more.
So mark me down as being in favor of benching Bynum.VT

Bynum won't be any part of future success, so I have no problem benching him.

It's this continual deference to veterans instead of giving the young guys time to develop that is most troubling of the Piston's management/coaches right now. Do they believe that crowds will come back to watch the team if it almost makes the playoffs? They would be a lot more interesting to watch if they just lost this season with the young guys.

Bynum must be a hard worker in practice for Frank to have this kinda loyalty to a terrible player.
