Lions should hire Lovie Smith
He's a great coach and it would be a logical fit considering his experience within the division.

Lovie is a product of Ulacher/Briggs. His offense has never looked good.

Lovie would be great....as long as you don't let him touch the offense.
the above opinion is not respected by Deleterious

2nd half season collapses. Lovie would fit right in...
Bears will aggressively pursue Cowher

No, they should hire his DC. This is stupid.

If Cutler could have stayed healthy, Smith probably would have went to another Super Bowl a couple of seasons ago and they would have made the playoffs last season.

Lovie's a good coach, but much like Schwartz, he is awful against good teams. I'm not sure his exact record, but its pretty abysmal. He dominates crap teams and that's good, but I think we should shoot higher if we get a new coach.

If that was the case we would have Sanchez and not Stafford under center.

Is Lovie a republican and/or bangin' a white chick? We need to make sure he's one of Rob Parker's people.

I think Lovie Smith would be a home run at this point in the progression/regression of the Lions. Sorry, but I think to some extent, many here hold the Lions in much higher regard than we should because of one decent year in the last 13 seasons. The Lions aren't going to get some up-and-coming superstar coach or even an established veteran coach any time in the near future, IMO. What highly touted coach is going to want to come to the ownership and personality mess that is the Lions?

In the end, I wouldn't be terribly upset about it. Especially since he basically has a built in offense better than he ever had in Chicago.

Lovie lives and dies on the Tampon-Two defense which is outmoded.
Pass.

Yah that Bears D looked terrible this year, definitely not physical though, so they deserve the tampon label. WTF?

2012 NFL Team Defensive Stats
The Bears defense was in the top 10 of just about every team defensive stat.

Briggs? So you are essentially saying that Lovie is the product of Urlacher.....and Urlacher only then.
Name the 2nd most dominant defensive player on the Bears over the past 10 years?
My list is as follows.....Mike Brown, Lance Briggs, Charles Tillman, Julius Peppers. That is not an impressive list.
The Bears defense has been smoke and mirrors for 10 years now.....except you can't really consider it smoke and mirrors when the Bears have done it for 10 years.Michigan Football - Dominating the recruitment of 3* Smurfs from 2008-2010
