Stafford has had a nice season. Nobody throws the ball from the pocket on time better than he does. I think that's a huge compliment. Big, big arm. But, he does not have a lick of pocket presence when there is any pressure whatsoever. If he has to scramble at all, it's going to be a bad play for the Lions. Also, I was extremely concerned after we were 5-0 and he walked around for 3 games like his dog died or his girlfriend dumped him (maybe they did I don't know). His body language was alarming and concerning. But you know what? He's 23 years old. Pretty impressive season. His play was not good for about 5-6 games in the middle of the season but he's bounced back nicely. He's not Aaron Rodgers yet and some of you are completely overhyping him and that get's annoying. He's not a Pro Bowl QB yet. He's not. Quit begging. Maybe next year. Also, don't forget the CJ factor with Stafford. The guy is a freak of nature and bails him out all the time. Plus, the O-Line has been very good protecting Stanton. . . ecause if there is any pressure whatsoever, Stafford can make nothing positive out of the play and many times takes sacks that shouldn't be sacks. All in all, good season. But remember, he broke Scott Mitchell's records and the only reason Mitchell has records is because of Barry. Hopefully, the same can't be said about Stafford and CJ.

....So Stanton would have had a better year? You do realize the guy is in pj's every game don't you? Get off the crack my friend.

jake, do you think that Stanton or Hill would have put up better numbers than Stafford this season?

I don't think the numbers would have been as good but the teams record might have been. They (Hill and Stanton) did end the season 4-0 last year. That's was a credit to the TEAM Mayhew and Schwartz have built. I think Stafford is getting way too much credit on this board. He's doing well and developing but he has deficiences which I have pointed out. I remember Shawn Hill playing last season with a broken finger and NOBODY was making excuses for him. That guy is a good QB, too. Our OL has been very good in pass protection with all the throwing we've done. Our DL is great and deep. Our linebackers have been very good and our DB's (with all the injuries) have stood up very well. Where are those threads? Stafford got what he deserved in the Pro Bowl votiing. Let's see which poster can take this post completely out of context.

We won with Stanton and Hill, but they didnt win us any games.

We also lost two games that Stanton played a lot in last year, and we beat GB in spite of him. The Tampa game is the only one he played a lot in that we won and that he did not stink. We would have 5-6 wins probably if Stanton played all year.

Hill was 3-6 in games he played significantly in last year. Hill is a solid backup. I think we could have won 8 games or so with him this year.

They are nowhere on the level Stafford is however
