They would need a 16th if GT is in right? Any ideas who that would be?

I can't see any other options that make sense beyond UNC or UVA.

Personally, I'm hoping they take at least two more from the ACC. Georgia Tech would be a nice start.
Slowsilver: They did a study at Baseball Prospectus and found out that bionic parts increase WARP23 by 6.7% on average. Back in the steroid era, steroids only increased WARP23 by 4.6%

I'd hope for Va Tech, but NC probalby gives them more market diversity.

VA Tech doesn't bring the TV audience the B1G is looking for.
FSU is the other rumor that is out there as it would open the door for the Florida market.
Never thought I could say, living in GA, that I live in B1G country!

Never say never.
I'm not saying the B1G will take them, but if the Big Ten's experts show that FSU would carry the Big Ten Network to all of Florida (not saying they would), that would be the #13, 16, 19, 38, 47, and 62 TV markets being brought in. That's a substantial amount of cash money.
Not to mention many consider FSU the next in line to be admitted to the AAU.
--To the OP--
Take it for what it's worth, but Georgia Tech. has vehemently denied these rumors, calling them "not true" and that they haven't even talked with the Big Ten.
As a result, some of the original sources have back tracked like crazy, while others have stood strong by their unnamed sources. One, Kevin Long, is still holding strong that there will be an announcement on Monday making it official, despite intense scrutiny from many ACC Insiders.
I'd love to add Ga. Tech... I am highly doubtful that Georgia Tech and the Big Ten haven't even talked, because there were whispers of this soon after the addition of Maryland... That said, Tech. may be waiting for the right time, as in, not right before their conference championship game.
For the 16th member if this is real, I'd say you add North Carolina or possibly Vanderbilt if they'd be willing to leave the SEC... Notre Dame has pissed the B1G off to the point where I think it would take ND begging Delany to let them in, and even then I'm not sure if he'd go for it.Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.

I'm so excited to play Big Ten teams once every ten years. I hate what college sports - and specifically the Big Ten - is becomming.
