12 in the coaches poll is a good sign for UM. MSU also stays in the top 14. I thought OK State had a chance to move to #2.
-
MSU has a SLIM to none shot of staying in top 14. They were #9 last week, that is a 4 spot drop. The problem is the computers dont like them, some had them as low as 20 last week. I dont think #13 in the Coaches poll is enough to keep them top 14, since coaches poll is likely going to be the highest they are going to be ranked in any of the components
And really BCS can only take 2 teams from Big Ten, so as long as Michigan is in top 14 also, I think its a moot point.2010 AAL Louis Delmas - 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF - Pro Bowl Alternate

I am sick of hearing players and coaches who lose a chance to make BCS complaining they are not in it. You had a chance and blew it....STOP COMPLAINING. Especially if you have no title game arguments, because bowls could have picked other teams over you even before the BCS

I'll take a Cap 1 bowl or Outback bowl for MSU. Sure it would have been nice for a BCS bowl but we lose so it is what it is.
Now I got a question for you guys on the bowl money thing. They say like a BCS game pays out like 20+ million or so right? And that money goes to each team in the B1G evenly or what? Cause of MSU still gets some money from it then its still winning for us at some point.
-
1. They were saying Houston cost their conference about 13 million by losing during their game(they said people are over-estimating the amount and they confirmed it to be around that number)
2. All bowl money is split amongst conference teams. Having Michigan in the BCS instead of Non BCS. It also pushes all the Big Ten teams up a slot. The worst bowl game is about a 750k payout. So it is a difference of about 10 millions or so dollars, which would give each team almost a million more by having a 2nd team in.2010 AAL Louis Delmas - 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF - Pro Bowl Alternate

SBJ: BCS payouts grow along with big shares for Big Six conferences - NCAA Football - Sporting News
The Mountain West made just short of $13 mil last bowl season from BCS because of TCU
Although ACC/Big 12/Big East made $21 mil for only one team in it and Big Ten/Pac 10/SEC got $27 mil for having two teams in it. So maybe adding a second team only is about a $6 million dollar difference.Last edited by Johnny Mac; 12-04-2011 at 03:31 PM.

First was the coach of Southern Miss saying since they beat Houston they should be in BCS, uhm hello you lost to Marshall and UAB.
And then Kirk Cousins comes off whiny with this quote - "We belong in a BCS bowl game. I don't know how you can get punished for playing, and someone else gets to sit on the couch and get what they want." Uhm, all you had to do was win and you were in. Plus every team beside LSU has benefited this season by sitting on the couch and watching other teams lose.2010 AAL Louis Delmas - 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF - Pro Bowl Alternate

It's not really what he said but how he said it. I dont think 3 loss teams should be in the BCS, unless they won their conference or have had a ridiculously hard schedule, which MSU doesn't qualify for either. But that aside, I think Cousins quote comes off as whiny. If he had something like "Im disappointed, I feel we are a BCS quality team" or something like that, I might feel different.

Whatever the case, Michigan is a lock for a BCS bowl. MSU is probably on the outside looking in
Which is somewhat of a shame. But the amount of whining that will go own in-state will be unbearable.

Nothing really shocks me there other than Penn State's fall...
Western Michigan doesn't deserve the Pizza Bowl, they were only selected because they have "Michigan" in their name.
Northwestern has a shot at A&M, especially with A&M not even having a coach right now.
Ohio State v. Florida has quite the storyline thanks to Urban Meyer. Should be interesting.Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.

Having already booked a hotel in Orlando (I assumed VT was going chick fil a, and its easy to cancel a hotel, but I wanted to book at team hotel), I dont mind one bit that Virginia jumped us, because I would rather spend 3 days in Orlando in late December than in Atlanta. It will be the first bowl game I have ever been to, and given local ties, I would rather play Notre Dame than Auburn as well. So I dont care that we are in a "lesser" bowl, because I like that bowl better this year.
