It is pretty weird, but good for him for at least looking at playing the sport he seems to be more passionate about. Heck, people rip on Drew Henson for playing baseball and passing up football, but the guy played his more loved sport. I can never knock a guy for passing up opportunities for pursuing something he loves.

In terms of MSU, I'd imagine MD and Izzo could have some type of Matt Trannon-esque thing with Sims where he plays both sports.

Default So it goes

I'm choking big time. Even with the heart felt admissions of a member threatening to end his 4 year stay on MTS, there's an awesome MD/Tebow tie in joke here and I'm missing it.

Its frustrating as hell that I can't post two words about MSU without facing incredible, unprovoked, backlash. Imagine if I replied to all the bait (here's looking at you Hongbit *smooch*).

I've tried being PC, ignoring everything Michigan, in a season where there was a damn cornucopia of opportunities (I made, count it, one post in the Toledo game thread: "holy hell"). That didn't work, so when I started pushing back (no sense in not being a good sport about all the bs'ing, right?) the **** hit the fan. Even J-Mac must have smelled it all the way down in Florida. I don't know if it is the frustration of the football season or what, but its ridiculous. There are MSU boards out there that I can talk **** about Michigan on, and actually receive information about MSU, rather than just provide and then face the wrath (sicne there is only like 5 MSU fans on here). But I actually used to enjoy the interaction with the members on here. But that time has come and gone. For whatever reason.

This post got all Oprah on my ***, but oh well. I guess this is my cue to stick to the MSU boards. With the rate this is going, I'll probably end up getting banned if I don't take that action on my own anyway.
Don't let them get to you. There's not enough non-Blue fans here.

Mark Dantonio is great. Not Jim Tressel great but better than Dick Rod.

I think they are relating MD and Tebow and how they are both perceived as God-like by some people. They are going ape **** on SV right now for no apparent reason...I don't really get what he did to have him get ripped on. Whatever...

Anywho...SV...GO GREEN!!!

SV is a good poster, and passionate fan. I'd much rather a few select UM posters get run instead of him.

I, for one, will miss SV's updates on all of the M decommits. I suppose I'll have to catch up with him at RCMB.

Default Still can't fit MD in anywhere

He's the Tim Tebow of MSU apologists on the board. I liked SV's farewell speech more than Tim's mainly because I was mentioned by name in it.

Don't forget, I warned everyone of the dangers of starting the 2010 recruiting thread before 2009 signing day was over.

The whole Dick Rod isn't a good coach schtick .. it's stale, really!

I like SV, but please don't be such a tool! There isn't one Michigan fan saying that John Beilein is the next Coach K -- is there, or even better than Izzo .. or that the Michigan program, with this one good year -- thus far, is anywhere close to becoming as good as Michigan State, cause it's not!

I know it's not, and even if John Belilein has a good year or two .. that doesn't make a program an elite program, though it'd be moving in the right direction, that's for sure. SV has MD taking Michigan State places, honestly, that will take much time to get there .. he has them there much sooner than common sense states, which is sad. Michigan has had one down year, historically accurate with every first year Rich Rodriguez has had ...... but go and look at year two and beyond! He's a great coach, and he turns things around fast, he has history to back this as well. The BIG 10 is pretty weak, so I expect that the turnaround may come sooner as well... Couple that with the fact that RR is still recruiting a nice class, going with the last class .. so the talent he needs to succeed is coming in, regardless of his bad first year. People want to bash him for this past season -- FINE, go ahead, but do so with a disclaimer of what comes next - LOOK IT UP, the turnarounds really do happen, and they happen fast!

THEY WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!

Belien is winning with Amaker recruits, just wait until he continues with his own recruits.

P.S. Dequinta Jones is now listed as a soft verbal, looks like Shred Rod is running a Hilter Youth Camp up in AA

I love how decommits = bad coach in a lot of your peoples minds, how many times did you change your mind at what college you wanted to go to? These people are being pressured to commit early by most schools, nothing is final until signing day so judge their final class.

what do these recruits have in common
4 star DE Nick Casa
4 star ATH Greg Reid
4 star RB Mike Gillislee

all have decommited from Urban Meyer and Florida since the new year. Florida is the place to go now and Urban Meyer is one of the best coaches and they are still losing commits. Not everyone sticks, no matter who you are.

Yeah, the defensive line is only so big, and if UM keeps getting good DL commits, some already committed might get nervous and de-commit.

That's how I take it, at least.

I honestly don't think SV is quite as "myopic" as JB. Frankly I see very little (in terms of realism, or at least a semblance of objectivity) separating JB from the RJBrezes and Santifantes or Infantiagos (among others) in terms of their Michigan Fan Boy Club Memberships...Other than the fact that I've always thought that JB seemed like a really nice guy (which frankly, counts for a lot imo). I also think he's genuinely a great fan of the U of M too (seriously) - which makes some of my earlier point understandable.

Wow, I think I found a compliment in there... Thanks

The college game is and will always be different than any other forum on here, because there's more passion in here than all the others combined!

There is a better than average chance that 2010 will be the first year of a trial period with an early signing day the 3rd week of December. It's being discussed heavily at this weeks AFCA meetings.

An Interview with Lo Wood by TomVH — January 21st, 2009

Lo Wood is a cornerback prospect from the 2010 class, who recently received an offer from Michigan. Lo is teammates with current Michigan commit Jeremy Gallon. Now that his junior year is over, Lo has been working hard on improving for next year. Working out 3 days a week, and 4 hours a day on Saturdays. Michigan is high on Wood, and he's high on them as well. Here's what we talked about.

TOM: How did your junior year go, compared to how you wanted it to go?

LO: I did good. It was way better than my sophomore year. I improved on a lot of areas, and that’s really what I wanted to happen.

TOM: How do you think you did at the combine?

LO: I did good at the Army combine. I went against some new kids, so it was good to see how I would do against them.

TOM: Did you get a chance to meet anyone new, any recruits you've kept in contact with?

LO: Chris Beckman, the receiver. I talk to him, but that’s about it for new people.

TOM: I know you're already good friends with Ricardo Miller (2010 Michigan commit), what has he been saying to you?

LO: He’s just saying I need to hurry up and commit, and how much he loves Michigan. He’s been trying hard.

TOM: You're also teammates with current Michigan commit Jeremy Gallon, has he been talking to you at all about the process?

LO: No, Jeremy’s kind of quiet. He said they need more Florida kids at Michigan. I guess everyone in Florida is talking about Michigan, since they’re going there.

TOM: Who do you currently hold offers from?

LO: Michigan, Georgia Tech, FIU, Stanford, and Duke.

TOM: Do you have a leader right now?

LO: My leader is Michigan.

TOM: I know your family is involved in the process, what do they think, or say you should do?

LO: They just tell me to make sure it’s the right choice for me, they’re just letting me do the process myself. My dad does certain things for me so I can focus on school.

TOM: Do you have a timeline for how you see your recruitment going? Some guys like to wait; others just get it out of the way.

LO: We’re going to sit down and figure it out. We’re still waiting; we’re kind of waiting to see what happens at signing day, and make our decision from there.

TOM: What's your next step? Have you planned any visits yet?

LO: Sit back and relax for awhile, then we’re talking about taking some visits. Michigan will get a visit, we’re just not sure when yet.

TOM: What schools have you already seen, and what was the most impressive part of any of them?

LO: Florida, Georgia, and Michigan too. Michigan, just the atmosphere, the stadium, and the fans. I really liked how everyone knew who I was.

TOM: Describe what kind of player you are, what are you good at, and what do you need to improve on?

LO: I’m going to improve on tackling better, doing basic things, and little things in my coverage. I’m best at playing man to man coverage, and jamming.

TOM: What do you think about Greg Robinson becoming the new Defensive Coordinator?

LO: It’s great to hear that a good DC is coming. It sounds like he’s got great experience, and the fact that he’s won Super Bowls is pretty cool.

...getting Ricardo Miller, Lo Wood, and Marvin Robinson all from the state of Florida .. would be, as I have said many times, a complete coupe!

Since you acknowledge it, I'll let you in on a little secret...it's COUP, not COUPE...unless of course you really think that they are going to turn into a two-door car.

Yeah, I know ... brain fart. Thanks. Anyway, it'll be a major accomplishment either way, to get three highly ranked players from Florida

Default Will be a consensus 5* player

Rumors are that elite DE/LB Chris Martin committed today to the Tarnished Dome. We'll have to wait and see if the new head coach will be able to hold onto him come signing day 2010.

Here is video of him repeatedly destroying Xavier Su'a-Filo.

It's really a mystery to me how Charlie Weis recruits so well, he seems like a pretty loathsome human being who's generally a jerk to everyone and of course he's got his god given immobility so really how does he do it

Notre Dame wobbles between it's supposed "ethics"/high academic standards and wanting to win football games. So they go through periods like with Gerry Faust where they're all high and mighty and losing, then they get pissed and hire Lou Holtz, things get shady, and they start winning again.

Methinks they've been in their "Lou Holtz" phase ever since they fired Willingham.

OT Andrew Norwell committed to tOSU yesterday, becoming the 3rd member of the 2010 class....many people feel he will be better coming out of high school than Mike Adams was, so that would be ok with me

I also think he's genuinely a great fan of the U of M too (seriously) - which makes some of my earlier point understandable.
What makes me a fan boy?

Also what doesn't make you a fan boy the other way?

Fanboys lack the ability to remain relatively objective when discussing the object of their fanaticism. They believe that everything their team does is great, and everything their opponents do is bad (see SpartanValor, Ranger, Tressel=God, Shelton, lionsandtigers, infantego, JV777, monkeynuts, Hongbit, etc.). JonBenke is president of the fanboys.

actually I'm quite objective, you're just saying that b/c I don't believe that Richard Rodriguez is not going to turn Michigan into a top 10 team in 3 years like all of you do

I believe this marks the first time in the history of the MotownSports college sports forum that an OSU fan has referred to Dick Rod as Richard Rodriguez.

Looks like the probable #1 player in Michigan in the class of 2011 (LB-Lawrence Thomas) is a heavy MSU lean at this point. People expect him to commit early, like Max Bullough, to the Spartans. Who apparently are trying to become the new LB-U.

I hear little jimmy is dominating the first grade recess football games and he was wearing a Michigan sweater.

joking aside, a lot can happen between now and the end of their senior year for sophomores, so its hard to say someone is the probable #1 player in a class
