Twins still dangerous after Metrodome

For the past few decades teams in the AL Central have dreaded having to venture into the Metrodome on roadtrips, but that comes with good reason. Being a Sox fan I know the horrors of that dome from watching loss after loss after loss over the last couple of seasons. I also have a somewhat fortune to live in Toledo and being able to get Tigers and Indians games. For have also seen those respective teams get short ended up there. A lot of people like to think the Twins do it all with luck, and lots of it, but in reality that is not the case at all. From Gardenhire's starting nine all the way to rookie ball the Twins teach their prospects how to use their element and play the way to win in the Metrodome. They tell them they won't make it to the MLB level without being able to bunt, sac fly, etc.

A lot of fans (like myself) are glad the Twins are moving out to beautiful outdoor Target Field. No more turf, no more baggie, no more cheap hits, no more air condition blowing different ways depending on who's batting and much more. A lot of people also think the Twins franchise is headed too 90 and 100 loss seasons for years to come. As much joy as that would bring this sports fan, I sadly have to say that is not the case.

The Twins will open 2010 with a core of Morneau, Span, Young, Cuddyer and Kubel and possibly Mauer and Crede. That is a great core to build around in my opinion. A better core than most teams can build around in both leagues. There is still work to be done this off seaon however. The Twins still have a bunch of players who are only on the team now because of their ability to play in the dome. Such players as Punto, Harris, Buscher and Tolbert. The Twins will have to get new players for the bench and regulars who can play on grass and survive. Next off the Twins will need to work on their rotation, I still find it suspect and unjudged. Bullpen wise they can probably hold with what they have.

In conclusion I wouldn't peg the Twins as bottom feeders in 2010, but don't look for them to compete either.

Granted over the years I have wanted many careers, my first when was when I was 6 and I wanted to be a power ranger :cheeky:, I've wanted to be a railroad engineer/conductor, historian, artist, truck driver, business owner, working in business/management, baseball front office, sex slave (not really), History teacher, Catholic Priest, Cop, Lawyer, Judge, President, Governor, Senator, baseball broadcaster, any much more. But I knew I had to do something that involved my best interests. I want a job where I travel, work with people, take photo's and still have time to watch a ballgame or two, when it hit me, why not be a MLB camera man? I'd certainly get to travel to different ballparks, I'd get to watch ballgames, take photo's (well actually I'd be recording video, but its all the same to an extent) I am going to start attending college in the spring to begin working my way to my dream job, unless I change my mind again :wink:

Hi! My name is Nick De Vera, I'm an internet junkie and an avid sports fan, but more importantly Chicago sports teams. But my interests run deeper than sports. I fancy myself a fan of music, technology, Magic: the Gathering, history, women , religions, and recently taking photos. I guess you can really say I become the Nick I am and found myself when I was 13 and in middle school To get more into my interests, If you're willing to read I will tell you.

I got into Chicago sports when, you guessed it, I was 13, my mother bought me identical White Sox shirts, back when the former Value City was around, its hard to describe why that got me into baseball, but it is what it is. And it wasn't too far after that I branched out into the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Northwestern. White Sox fans and their orginization get a lot of bad rep for being "classless" and "trashy", but to be honestly, I don't really see it :happy:

Growing up I really never listened to music outside of whatever my mom had in the cassette player in the car, or what record my dad was playing. Which I guess back then my music list would of consisted of Micheal Jackson, Madonna, and the Beatles :silly:*. But, obviously, as I got older I got into my own jams. Rammstein was the first band I really got into on my own, Till's baritone vocals singing gracefully in german with the heavy and rhythmic guitars of Richard Krupse and Paul Landers. And from then, I became a metal head, but unfortunately, I went through an emo phase my freshman year of high school :disappnt:

I guess enjoying technology, Magic: the Gathering, history, women, religions helped get me my nerdy tag, but I don't really care. In social studies,history,geography, and for some time science, was always the chubby kid with the baby face and glasses that knew the answer to everything. But, like I said above, I have no problem being a nerd or hanging with my nerd friends.

Thats all for now, If you wanna chat hit me up on myspace or facebook. :rambo:

oh, and.....LETS GO WHITE SOX! :classic:

* I still like them
