Hi! My name is Nick De Vera, I'm an internet junkie and an avid sports fan, but more importantly Chicago sports teams. But my interests run deeper than sports. I fancy myself a fan of music, technology, Magic: the Gathering, history, women , religions, and recently taking photos. I guess you can really say I become the Nick I am and found myself when I was 13 and in middle school To get more into my interests, If you're willing to read I will tell you.
I got into Chicago sports when, you guessed it, I was 13, my mother bought me identical White Sox shirts, back when the former Value City was around, its hard to describe why that got me into baseball, but it is what it is. And it wasn't too far after that I branched out into the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Northwestern. White Sox fans and their orginization get a lot of bad rep for being "classless" and "trashy", but to be honestly, I don't really see it
Growing up I really never listened to music outside of whatever my mom had in the cassette player in the car, or what record my dad was playing. Which I guess back then my music list would of consisted of Micheal Jackson, Madonna, and the Beatles*. But, obviously, as I got older I got into my own jams. Rammstein was the first band I really got into on my own, Till's baritone vocals singing gracefully in german with the heavy and rhythmic guitars of Richard Krupse and Paul Landers. And from then, I became a metal head, but unfortunately, I went through an emo phase my freshman year of high school
I guess enjoying technology, Magic: the Gathering, history, women, religions helped get me my nerdy tag, but I don't really care. In social studies,history,geography, and for some time science, was always the chubby kid with the baby face and glasses that knew the answer to everything. But, like I said above, I have no problem being a nerd or hanging with my nerd friends.
Thats all for now, If you wanna chat hit me up on myspace or facebook.
oh, and.....LETS GO WHITE SOX!
* I still like them
