I agree 100% with this post.

It is always better to start well, but really --- in baseball -- it all comes down to winning enough games. That is, more than the other teams in your division for first place and fourth best in the league for the wildcard.

I am amazed how much thought and sweat by the fans go into deciding what needs to be down after one or two games... and that it can be forgotten after the third game ends a two-game losing streak
