Josh Anderson

I liked the idea of going outside the organization and getting a guy with speed. So when we traded for Josh Anderson, I thought it would be a decent move. As the phrase goes, "Speed doesnt slump."

The problem with the Anderson acquisition isnt so much that Anderson is a terrible offensive player--we should have been aware of that from the get go--it's that Leyland has simply overused him. In 28 games in May, Anderson sat out the entire game...

Here he is, folks. My favorite Tiger. I've had no logical reason for liking him, but the past couple of seasons have really endeared him to Tiger fans. This is a guy who has a defined role as a backup 2B/SS (although with Everett, it has been more of a platoon this year) and excels at it. He's not quite the fielder that Everett or Polanco are, but he's adequate enough--better than other backup options that we've had in the past.

The impressive thing...

I've wanted to do a blog about the Tigers for a while, and have attempted to in the past. Now that I'm working mornings instead of evenings or overnights, it is much more possible for me to keep up with both the Tigers and a blog.

Obviously post #1 is coming 2 months into the season, so I have a lot of catching up to do....but I'll try to organize my thoughts as clearly as possible here. I'll start by going through the roster and dissecting what I've seen so far:
