We got a new digital camera and after going through one replacement for the batteries we decided to break down and get the rechargable. I have a Kodak ZS712IS series, or something like that. The box I got at Best Buy, which included case, charger, and 2 batteries for $40, said "compatible with Kodak 600 and 700 series cameras". I asked the girl and even pointed to the camera on the rack. "Yep, 700 series, that's a 712". So a month later my battery runs out and it's time for the first go with the rechargable.

Doesn't fit. There's a plastic thing on them and it won't slide in right. I don't have the receipt or the box anymore, that was a month ago.

The battery I need is KLIC 8000. I see some knockoff brands. Are they any good? Any difference from the Kodak brand?

The only saving grace is that the "bad" set of batteries would work on our old digital camera. So all is not lost. I guess those things will wear out over time.

I don't think saving a few bucks is worth it. I know with my camera the Nikon battery is 42.00 and the no-name knockoff is 35.00. For the extra 7 bucks, I'll get the name brand, at least I know I'm getting something decent.

I buy all of mine off of Ebay with no problems. Instead of 40-50 a pop, I can get 2 for $15. Using a Canon 20D. I usually carry aboout 5.
