So I finally got my fiancee to cave, and she went to pick it up from a local Walmart for me, since I enough in gift cards to cover it. Is it as cool as it seems?

I got it in November. Its a pretty good game - the more people playing, the more fun you're going to have. Online play stinks though.

YES YES YES !!
My niece/nephew in Newberry got it for Christmas, very fun. I believe you can have two guitars, drums, plus you can add in a karoke singer. Highly recommended!

Good, since my company has gone in head-first on this project, yet it seems like its bombing (not in a good way) right now. I hope the Guitar Hero crowd will get more into Rockband when they're done with GHIII.

A couple friends of mine who used to be way into Guitar Hero now say it sucks in comparison to Rock Band. Take from that what you will.

well, we played for 5 hours before the ball dropped, and 3 more afterwards, finishing 6 bottles of jack during that time. I just hope they come out with some updated music....

They have song packs that you can download (for a price) from the XBOX Live marketplace. There are 3 song packs, such as a Bowie one, and pretty soon they will be putting out full albums (Metallica has been confirmed).

i played for a couple of hours last night and had a ton of fun!

turns out one of the guys i played with worked on the development of the game. not that it helped my awesome vocal stylings at all...

I actually got my fiancee to play the guitar for about 2 hours after she was adamant she'd hate the game and would never play. I figure once she pops out a couple kids, we'll get a real band going....

We played Rockband last week at my buddy's house. We sounded better and better with every bottle that was consumed...

I've noted in some other threads that there are major problems with some of the instruments breaking. I had one problem with my guitar that I was able to fix myself (lack of contact to the strummer bar), but my whammy bar broke today, so I have to send my guitar in. Looks like I will be without a guitar for 2-5 weeks :(

At least you have a new acoustic to play with in the mean time ;)

I played it yesterday for the first time. Amazing. Forget Guitar Hero. I'm loving the drums and bass. I got tired of playing guitar on the video game.

Have you tried singing yet? Or even better, have you tried singing and playing an instrument at the same time? Unless you know the words real well, it can get pretty tough.

I can sing decently, gamewise. But it sounds terrible.

I can't play and sing at the same time in Rockband.

Isn't it more about making the right pitch instead of singing? So you could hum and still get it right?

Right, and there are a lot of people who do this to beat certain parts of the game. Personally, I think its a cheap way out.

I took my broken guitar and the box EA provided to the UPS store today. They knew immediately what it was when I walked in the door. They said they have to ship a lot of guitars and also 360 consoles.

I just hope I get to drum again soon. I drummed a bit before other friends showed up, and I was moved to bass. I'm just tired of guitar on the consoles. I like to try the other instruments.
