Move if you feel this doesn't pertain to the Tigers, Mods.

I've been listening to various sports channels today, and even MLB.tv just had a little blip about it. Seems Carl Pavona may be done for the season. Key stats:

5-7, 19 starts. That's what 25 million smackers buys ya. Who here is EXTREMELY glad this kid didn't sign that contract at dinner time with Tram, Kaline and Dombrowski? ... :)

Or is it the pressure of NY that really hurt him? I often think had Weaver been traded to a team like Stl. do begin with, he may have been a decent pitcher.

Thoughts?

(i'm killin time till first pitch!)

We dodged the bullet on that one, that's for sure.

My thought is Pavano cashed-in, big time, on exactly one very good season. Don't blame him. Some moronical GM and team owner offered him the money. He would've been kicked out of the club if he didn't sign it.

Pavano also had fairly good stats in the minors so it was more of how everyone figured he would continue to pitch. Like Griffey it isn't like he planned all the injuries but he did end up with money and injured.
