LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Lakeland Flying Tigers are teaming up with the American Cancer Society and going pink to raise awareness for breast cancer. Cancer Awareness Night will take place on Saturday, April 21 at Joker Marchant Stadium when the Flying Tigers take on the Dunedin Blue Jays.
Game time is scheduled for 6:00 pm. and the gates to Joker Marchant Stadium will open at 5:00 p.m. Following the game will be the second of thirteen Saturday fireworks shows.
Several Tiger players will wear pink wristbands and use pink baseball bats during the game. The Flying Tigers staff will wear pink t-shirts during the game. In addition, the bases will be painted pink and the breast cancer awareness ribbon will be painted on the field. Prior to the game cancer survivors from Polk County will be recognized on the field.
Tickets for the April 21 game, and all remaining home games, are available by calling the Tigers at (863) 686-8075. Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1.00 discount. Parking is free.
