Loved some of the compositions...are you capeable of multiple FPS? Your contact shots and ball in hand are very well done.

I forget what exactly the FPS is for my D50, maybe 3 FPS or something like that, but I do know it's not as fast as what you have with your 20D.

Honestly, I rarely even use burst mode, I just try my best to time out a single shot. When it's a play in the field, I'll usually try to snap as many as possible, but for a pitcher or a batter, I usually just try to time everything out.

I was gonna ask till grandmag said Louie loved his pics, but, do the other players just love it too? Do they get a chance to see these? Thanks a lot potthole for sharing them, they are phenomenal, the last ones at homeplate are my favorites, but there isn't a bad or even mediocre one in the bunch

I'm not sure how much the players see during the season, I don't really pimp my pictures too much, I mainly let them get out there by word of mouth.

At the end of the season, however, I try to make sure each guy on the team gets to see the pictures. Last season I created a CD for every player and coach, each with a custom label on the disc, and was able to get Matt Walbeck to give them to each member of the team. I plan on doing that again this season too.

Since your photos are available online (flickr) and can be easily grabbed, it's not hard for someone to do that. Take it as a compliment... But if it really bothers you, you might want to consider adding some type of watermark to the photos you put online. Something that people would be unable to remove, thus providing you (or your website) the credit you deserve.

Yeah, I'm not really upset, like you mentioned, MWG, it is a compliment. If it keeps happening, I might begin to have a problem, but as of now I don't really have any issues.

The main reason why I'd want to prevent other people from uploading photos there is that when uploading a picture on that album, you can choose the name the file gets. If I were uploading it myself, I could throw in my potthole.com website as part of the name. That's the main reason I'd begin to get irritated if people kept doing this on a frequent basis.

This only begins to show the media hoopla that surrounded Kenny. When he first came out and started warming up, there were at least twice as many media members down behind the mound. This photo also shows how the Whitecaps were trying to keep fans from overwhelming Kenny during his warm-ups. Usually fans can go right up to the fence, but they had that whole section of the grassy hill blocked off until after Kenny got done warming up:

I'll explain this one a little bit. I've always thought it might look sort of interesting to take an extended exposure of a pitcher as he goes through the motion of his pitch. Playing around with some settings, I took this one of Jensen using a shutter speed of 1/3 second, and an f/stop of 14. For reference, normally I shoot with a shutter speed between 1/800 and 1/4000 fo a second, and an f/stop between 3 and 8.

Photos from tonight might be on hold until tomorrow again. They're all ready to go, but Flickr is being a pain in my arse as I'm trying to upload them right now...

Wendy told me about their new Uplolader, but I found it worse in speed than the original. I had to delete it and do a system restore as the original is no longer downloadable. It worked fine on her system though. My cable system allows me to upload a hundred pictures in about 10 minutes or less and the new system was over 3 minutes per pic.

This is the third uploader that they've had since I started using Flickr, a little over a year ago. I really liked the second one, as it was possible to upload more than 5 photos at a time. I will agree, huey, that they overall upload speed seems to have slowed down.

I gave the photos another try, and so far they've been working. Let's hope it stays that way.

The uploader kept pooping out on me, but after multiple attempts I finally have my photos from Tuesday's game up!

Thanks! I was worried that my exposure was too bright on it, so I was quite happy when I saw how it turned out.

Every once in awhile Melissa will point out a photo of mine that she says just shows what Minor League Baseball is. I think she might consider this to be one of those shots:
