It was in one of the RSS articles, but I wanted to bring it to the forefront.
Jordan Tata was placed on the DL with shoulder "discomfort" in his throwing shoulder. I can't help but think that's bad news. Jeremy Johnson took his spot.

That sounds bad. Especially since Durbin will need to be replaced soon.

This bodes badly for Miller getting seasoning in the minors.

I disagree. There are other pitchers between Miller and being rushed.

Jurrjens is one that comes to mind...

Well, at least we haven't heard the three dreaded words "Dr. James Andrews" yet. Or labrum. That's another bad one.

That's too bad about Tata. That doesn't sound good.
I still expect the Tigers to bring up Miller sooner rather than later. I think he'll be starting for the Tigers in May. Just a hunch.

That's my opinion, as well, but Leyland said during spring training that if Durbin didn't replace Rogers, Miller would be the guy. I can't imagine anything has changed since then.

The Tigers have had more injuries this year than they did all of last year.

I think the only thing that would change it is if he's not throwing well in the minors.

Agreed. I think Miller will get the first call, although my preference would be to see Miner or even Jurjjens first.

You both could be correct. Miller definitely is on the fast track. I am thinking June not May though. I think Miller if he throws well in his next two starts will be bumped to AA for May. Then he will get at least 2 starts in AA before they bring him up.

May 23 is my prediction for Miller's 2007 debut.
Just got a gut feeling (and I have plenty of gut to feel with!)

This sounds reasonable. Hopefully last year's short stint in MLB provided some seasoning.

From today's Blade:
... Jordan Tata flew to California yesterday and will meet with noted orthopedic specialist Dr. Lewis Yocum today.
Tata is on the disabled list because of soreness in his pitching shoulder that has prevented him from pitching this season.

Hopefully this is just precautionary.
