our players will NOT be overlooked for the allstar game.

So WHO will be taken to the allstar game this year! This should be fun.

I think guys like Bonderman, Verlander, Sheffield, and Guillen hold their AS destiny in their own hands. IE if their numbers match up with other leaders at their positions, they should be among the frontrunners.

If he doesn't get hurt or implode, I think Fernando Rodney will be there. Leyland loves that guy.

Leyland said if he pitches in the first half like he did last year, then he's picking them.

If the Tigers do get 4-6 guys be prepared to take the beating from the other fans because Leyland "picked all of his own guys" even though pretty much every ASG game manager does it.

I don't want many Tigers in the AS game. Take Sheff, take Rodney, and maybe Pudge. Thats it. I want to protect our arms and players.

I agree. This season is gonna be rough on our guys physically and mentally with the heightened expectations. Any time off that they can get is a plus.

Inge, Pudge, Guillen, Verlander, and the starting pitcher for the 2007 American League All-Stars, Jeremy Bonderman. There will be at least two more deserving, but won't go because of the requirement of at least one per team.

One extra game isn't going to hurt them. Also, they don't all have to play just because they're selected.

Agreed. Besides, we need to remember what an honor it is for them to be chosen. (that is, they consider it a big honor)

Yeah, but I still hold my breath with each pitch a Tiger pitcher throws in an All-Star Game and cringe when a position player starts running to first on a ground ball or grit my teeth when an outfielder chases a fly ball. I remember watching Harmon Killebrew rip up a hamstring in an All-Star Game just stretching for a ball thrown by an infielder.

I'm sure Leyland will figure out a way to get Neifi on the all star roster.

What will help players who are selected is the extra off day on Thursday this year.

your 2007 all-star game starter: Jason Grilli

I think Guillen, Pudge, Maggs and Sheff have the best chances of being voted in as starters.

I think Bonderman and Zumaya and maybe Verlander will make the pitching staff.

Outside chance: Granderson.
