For the last 100+ years they've been wool. These are polyester. They breathe better and don't stink like wool.

I bought one yesterday at Lids and am pleased. I've been exclusively wearing batting practice caps for the past few years because they're so much more comfortable. However, this new hat is comfortable enough that I'll be wearing it quite a bit.

Buy a fitted cap. The one's with the straps tend to look silly. Fitted caps are da bomb(are the kids still sayin' that?).

I'd buy this hat if it had all the other English D designs and older hat Logo's vertical and not sloppy looking. I like the idea of it, but it's ugly.

My parents bought me a road batting practice hat for my birthday in November. I must say I agree with your statement that the batting practice caps are much more comfortable. It is the most comfortable fitted cap I've ever owned.

I'm the same way. The tall, structured hats look ridiculous on me. The sloped BP hats fit me much better.

I ordered mine from the Motown store on Monday and it arrived today. It's comfortable and it's very difficult to tell apart from the wool hat.
