The Erie Seawolves offense clicked again today at Lakeland vs. the Akron Aeros. Torres had 2 HR, one, an inside the park beauty when the centerfielder for Akron dove for a line drive that got by him for an easy 4-bagger. Torres next AB was a HR to left against a lefty starter. The switch hitting Torres was 0-2 in his other 2 AB's, facing RHP. Offensively, the team looked fantastic with Hollimon, Joyce, Thomas, McIntyre and Kunnel (spelling is probably wrong?) all adding doubles during the game. Hollimon, having a very nice ST had 2 hits while Thomas ended the game with 3. Larish hit the ball hard during the day, but, had only 1 hit for his efforts. Eddie Bonine pitched 7 innings very effectively, giving up only a couple runs until running out of gas in the 7th.
With Joyce playing again with the Seawolves, I'd now say he's a lock for a trip north on Monday. He looks very comfortable with this group and continues to hit the ball very hard in every AB.
The game score was probably somewhere around 9-3. Haley looked very good at SS, sparing for Dlugach who was with the ML team today.
Of interest, Kody Kirkland turned his ankle (tweak, taken out for precautionary measures) during his first AB when running to 1B trying to avoid a tag by the 1Bman. It was an extremly akward looking play and Coach Walbeck did not hesitate to take him out of the game and ice the leg. He walked off the field at about the 8th inning to the clubhouse with no apparent long term concern.
GREAT day for the AA team...........

Kunkel is advanced for his experience. Certainly equal to the job at Lakeland or Erie.

Here's a discussion of Erie's potential roster. Not finalized, and no surprises so far: http://www.goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070331/BASEBALL01/703310402/-1/RSS
