Someone should tell them the Cubs haven't won a World Series in almost 100 years. Personally, I hope the Cubbies never win a World Series while I'm still alive. It's nothing personal, I just think it's great that a team hasn't won a championship in almost a hundred years. It makes me feel better about the Lions, too.

Reds are 50/1
Didn't say the reds deserved odds like the cubs got, just saying the cubs don't deserve 5/1. I bet no one places money on them this year because of that.

I think that the odds were determined by the amount of money that has been bet on them. I am guessing people think that the offense with Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano will carry them. People also tend to overrate Ted Lilly.
I wouldn't be shocked if they did win their division... I wouldn't be shocked if they finished in 4th either.

All gaming odds are determined first by a group, they are then adjusted as betting takes place.

Odds to Win the 2007 World Series
Cubs 9/1
I wonder what these odds would be if their historical playoff performance is taken into account. This may be a stupid question, but after all, when was the last time they won the WS?

1908 over the Detroit Tigers. Their only two championships came against Detroit.
In fact they have met the Tigers 4 times in the WS. 1907, 1908, 1935, 1945.

Yeah, I knew the answer I just worded my question wrong. The stupid question I was referring to was their odds at winning the series given their poor playoff performance. Sorry for the confusion - I was being more sarcastic than serious.
