Other Detroit pro stars we may want to look at...

The Wolverines are easy so I've been looking for Negro League players the last week or so.
If people get a chance these are people I think we can address (just starting it so there' only a few names)

Turkey Stearns (obvious)
Bruce Petway - a lot of him on the internet as well. I knew he was good but he was pretty good with the Stars as well. He's really one to look at.

I'll add names as I find people. I think this will be the most rewarding chapter of our team.

Dave, could you provide a quick Wolverines list? I simply have not had the time to look them up.

I would have to go through a book to do that. The old Baseball Encyclopedias did this. Also I have the Great Encyclopedia of 19th Century Major League Baseball. It contains in detail those seasons. It has the 1887 for example.
Sam Thompson (.372, 11, 166)
Hardy Richardson (.328, 8, 94)
Dan Brouthers (.338, 12, 101)
That's just listing the first three.
It would take a bit of work going through the entire time but it's there.

It also has the 1900 AL stats. Most of the qualified players from that team are already mentioned. I know Roscoe Miller was mentioned. He was 19-9 that season. No ERA is given but he had seven shutouts in 32 games (270 innings).

Sorry, I thought you meant you had a list already.
Another request, should we merge this with the Richard Bak thread?

I screwed up and put that post with the Bak thread. I just wanted to start clean

OK, thanks. I see a few folks started posting possibly Negro Leaguers in the other thread though?
