Is the Lakeland regular season schedule out yet? I'm planning on going there in April and I'd like to figure out the best time to go.

Thanks fyrftr. What times are the weekend games usually at? And what kind of whether can I expect at night in April in Lakeland? I've been there in March and it can get a little chilly at night.

If it's the same as last year game times are at 6pm on Saturdays & 1pm Sundays when the season first starts. Weather basically the same as March some nights maybe alittle chilly. I would bring a sweater or light jacket just in case.

Great news Lee. Jim is right. 6 on saturdays, 1 on Sundays. After June 1st, I believe, the Sunday games move to 6.

Opening day is going to be great, plus they're in Tampa the next night. It's always fun to make a trip over to Legend's Field.

I noticed this morning the game times, except for a road trip to St. Lucie, are posted. There are three 10:30 AM games and one unusual 1:00 PM mid-week game on July 12th. I believe the MLB All-Star game is the 10th, so I am baffled by that one. The FSL All-Star Game is June 16th in Daytona.

Are you guys OK there in Lakeland?

Tornado damage?

I see that Sumter and Lake counties - just north of you guys - were devastated.

I'll probably be going with my father in the 3rd week of April. Any hotel recommendations? I'm looking for something moderately priced within a couple miles of the Park. My father likes to walk and I like to run so no scary neighborhoods. I only say that because we did experience that once in Lakeland. I know most of Lakeland is ok.

I haven't stayed here, but if I was looking for a place fairly close to the park as you are, I would look into the Jameson Inn.

HOTEL: http://www.jamesoninns.com/Hotel_Detail.asp?pHotelID=1412

La Quinta is a neighbor of Jameson, and perhaps a bit less expensive, especially with AAA. I'd guess about a 2 mile run to Tigertown from there. Window shop at the BMW dealer.

Thanks for the info. I'll be there April 19, 20, 21. I'll be at the games on the 20th and 21st and maybe on the 19th if the flight gets me there on time. I think I was in the La Qinta hotel before except it was a different franchise back then. we'll be staying at the Jameson. Both my father and I think Cracker Barrel has a strange environment but we like the food. Applebees is good too.

Nice thing about Applebees following the games, you may find some players there and the appetizers are 1/2 price after 10. Still 2 for 1 drinks and serve dinner until around midnight.

Sounds like it should be fun. Last year was the first year sice the early 90's that I wasn't in attendance for Opening Day in Detroit and it will be fun to be part of a Home Opener again.

For running/walking I do recommend Lake Parker Park across the street from the stadium.

I will be at the games on April 27th and 28th and maybe the 26th (if my plane trip goes smoothly). I know where Deran and Roger sit and I'm sure they will let me know if anybody else is around. So, I hope to meet some people next weekend.
