There were about 25+ guitars players led by Jim Maddus of WXYZ-TV leading the way, 'Sunshine Of Your Love'. It was terrific!
In the mix of guitar players was Lemon James, I had run into her at a 'Battle of the Bands' at the Shelter with that great teenage band from Bloomfield Hills - "Astro Projection" [featuring one Jay B. on Bass].
She looked & sounded great. Check out her site!

Lemon Rocks Detroit
With a Hendrix-Meets-Motown sound, Lemon brings Jimi cover tunes and her groovy originals.

Any chance Dick the Brusier might make an appearance?

I'm flattered OMF, but usually I only have girls asking.

I did ask about George [aka: Bruiser & assorted other characters] ... the reply was simply, 'We do not hear from him anymore' ... too bad, he was almost a regular guy - a bit frugal, yet a nice guy

That is really weird. I wonder what happened. They worked together so many years and seemed to have a really good relationship. If it wasn't, you'd think it would have come through in the chemistry or lack thereof on the air.

As I recall it, George Baier simply announced on the air one day that he was leaving, and caught JJ completely unaware - and that was it. Maybe I don't have the story exactly right. I heard it second-hand and it was quite awhile ago, but I do find it strange that it's gone down as it has.

I wonder if Hutch or MCS knows more of the story. I did do a little checking around and found that five or six years ago Baier joined the cast of the "Captain & Crew" show - which I have never heard of - on something called Michigan Talk Network. No idea if that is still around or if he is still involved.
