2000 Matt Wheatland RHP
2001 Kenny Baugh RHP
2002 Scott Moore SS
2003 Kyle Sleeth RHP
2004 Justin Verlander RHP
2005 Cameron Maybin
2006 Andrew Miller

Of course it's too early to judge Maybin and Miller. But what terrible drafting three years in a row with Wheatland, Baugh and Moore. Wheatland and Baugh suffered injuries but Moore was just a waste.

There's only one round in each draft? 2002 was excellent, with Granderson/Zumaya.

None of those were awful picks. The draft is a guessing game. Most of the players that go in the first round have the raw tools to develop into major leaguers, but not all of them do. We have had some pretty bad luck with injuries in the past...but thank God things have looked up the last few years.

I just hope we can now look for diamonds in the rough since we don't have the luxury of Top 10 picks.
