This guy shows no emotion at all...This was a very exciting game 7. Endy Chavez makes one of the most amazing catches in post season history and he calls it like a can of corn to the second baseman. He could have been calling a spring training game and I would not have been able to tell the difference. I know he is trying to be professional and let the players tell the story or whatever but I am dissapointed that he will be calling the World Series.

Buck is thoroughly mediocre.

It's FOX's incessant cuts to fans between pitches that I'm not sure I'll be able to handle. Their broadcast is designed to appeal to people who would rather people-watch than baseball-watch.

I'll agree with you on Buck but I actually like seeing the people on televison who care most about their teams. Baseball's not just about robots simulating a game and a result. It's about emotion and although this is cliche' loving the game.

Love the people shots as well. Ads to the drama of the game.

Plus you you usually get a sneak peak a hottie or two. :)

Lewin should call the WS for FOX.

Nothing was better than the people shot during the Boston/NY series in 2004. It really added to the tension each and every pitch. I always thought that was one of the things FOX did really well.

Lewin should call the WS for FOX.

Mario and Rod should do the WS.

I hate Joe Buck.

I'm not a fan of Buck, but I thought tonight wasn't that bad. They actually allowed dead air to build tension and like others have pointed out showed a lot of the fans to add to the suspense.

At least Buck/McCarver were not talking over and over just to hear their voices like the Monday Night Football crew and a lot of other baseball announcers. Gonzo, I'm not sure what he was really doing there, totally unnecesary.

Joe Buck just comes off as self-important. Any time he's calling a game, I get a feeling that he thinks I should be priveledged to listen to him.

Josh Lewin does a great job with play-by-play. I'm glad he was able to be in Detroit for game 4 vs. the Yankees.

Joe Buck is terrible? Wow. In other news, water is wet.

Who's the third guy in the booth going to be?

The most annoying thing to me are the commercials that Joe Buck is in, with the 3 losers that seem to be amazed that they got to meet Joe Buck. I don't hate the guy, he's okay. I've just never seen him as the type of guy to elicit such a response. It would be more believable if it were Bob Uecker.

It'd be even more believeable if it were Ernie Harwell

Buck asked, "Have you ever seen better?" That strikes me as fairly excitable.

There are so many horrible sports announcers, singling out Buck seems ridiculous. He's overly polished but I don't see why everyone despises him.

He's plastic, completely manufactured and emotionless. Great announcers usually get my juices going, and add to the moment, such as Rod and Mario, who are extremely underrated.
