Re: Larussa vs Leyland

I hope it dosnt turn into an *** kissing contest like it was during the 05 NBA finals with Larry Brown and Pops.

That was just sick. Its great that they're friends, but can we put all that aside. For the next 2 weeks (?) just try to kill each other.

You will see them give each other a ton of credit. It would be against Leyland's style to say anything bad about Larussa.

Exactly - if people don't like that, don't watch the press conference, pre-game interviews, etc .. cause they are going to slirp over one another.

I like the Bonderman v Weaver subplot, but I thought the Bonderman/Beane back story would have been talked about more in the ALCS, but, it wasn't.

Maybe that's because the media was talking about A-Rod and the Yankees too much, I don't know, but we'll see what happens.

Don't forget we'll get LaRussa whining about osmething. He always does.

I borderline hate that guy.

I can deal with credit.
Every manage gives credit.

What Pops and LB did in the 05 finals went way beyond that.
I was waiting for them to make out at mid court.:speech:

'Lovefest' subplot #2

Polanco and Pujols are very close friends. They say they're like brothers.

Thankfully, Leyland has said he won't be talking about his friendship with LaRussa during the series.

Did Weaver end up getting hurt by that line drive last night? Looked like it hit him square in the ribs from one replay I saw.

I doubt the media will care very much about the Bonderman/Weaver thing. I don't think anybody cares about that trade except Tiger fans. Even most Athletics fans probably don't care because Bondrman was not in their organization very long. The Leyland/Larussa thing will definitely be played up.

If they end up facing each other, they'll make a bigger deal of it.

It sure lookedl ike he got hit. NO word on his condition though. I've been musingabout a possible Bonderman-Weavver matchup for a few days now,but it probably won't happen now that Verlander and Kenny have been announced as the pitchers in One and Two. Surely Weaver will match up against on eof them.
