Interested in thoughts on how you think Jimmy will have the staff pitch Pujols and under what circumstances he'll give Pujols an intentional walk. Would a similar approach that the staff used with the Big Hurt work against Pujols? Is there any pitching style or approach that Pujols struggles to hit?

Pitch to him until he proves he can hit. That hamstring is really screwing with him right now.

If anybody can find a way to pitch him, I'll bet on Kenny Rogers. Pujols is likely a mother of a fastball hitter, so Kenny's off-speed and breaking stuff may leave him dumbfounded. I'd also like to see what he does against Zumiya when he's "on". Aren't too many have been able to find that 102mph fastball and do much with it yet.

Don't let Jones pitch to him. I believe Pujols has a .500 HR percentage against the coaster.

If first base is open with one out I'd pitch around him. If bases were empty with a one run lead, Rogers and Zumaya can pitch to him. The rest should pitch around him or at least very carefully. Todd Jones LOL as TFFC said....should never be pitching to him.

I'm taking this back after looking at his post-season stats. I was under the impression that he was slumping.

Tell that to Morneau or Griffey :hurt:

He hasn't done much in the LCS before last night's homer. I think we will pitch to him normally, I'm sure he'll come through with a big hit here and there, but he can't beat us alone.

Did you expect him to go the whole season without allowing a homer?

I am too, especially since Delgado and Beltran are the only ones hot of that group...the others are due to get going.

Pitch to him with everybody. Only walk him if jones is on the mound and he's the winning run.

He can't run with his bad hammy. So if he hit one in the gap at Copa it may just be a long single.

Me too. It's why I want the Cardinals to advance.

With Pujols, you toss 4 pitches where he can't reach em and let the rest of the lineup beat you.
