Lastnight the guy's in the booth said the A's didn't have good team speed. So why don't they hit & run?

I mean look the Tigers don't have blazing speed either but, Leyland isn't afraid to start the runner. That's what you have to do in order to scratch some runs out.

This could be something to keep a close eye on during this series. If the A's continue to get runners on and can't push the across. It will doom them.

They don't hit and run because they don't have many contact hitters. They had two players who hit over .290 and the rest batted less than .280. Their offense seems to rely alot on walks. They had the second most walks in the AL. They don't hit for contact and they don't have much power. They were second last in slugging in the AL. If our pitchers can avoid walking their hitters, we'll be in a great position to win this series.
