Just a heads up, Curtis Granderson is coming up on Rome is Burning on ESPN.
That was a great interview. Leyland said Guillen is the smartest player on the team but I don't believe it.

Was he well-spoken and polite? (old joke, I know).

Loved how he said he's only seen someone like Zumaya on video games. And even then they tire on the game but not the real Zumaya.
Maybe Leyland meant that Guillen has the most "baseball" smarts. Because Granderson is noticeably a very intelligent young man.

No, but he was articulate.

I thought he said Granderson was.
I thought he said Granderson was.
He said Granderson was the most consciencious player he ever coached, or something like that. I don't remember the exact word.
He said Guillen was the smartest. But, like Lou said, he probably meant "baseball" smart.

I checked out his college batting records the other day and that guy could flat out hit and walked a lot too according to the record books. I also noticed that in college he didn't steal many bases either. So I don't see him as a steal threat in MLB either. I wonder why he doesn't try to steal more bases?

I'm pretty sure his sister has a PhD. His bachelors degree from Illinois-Chicago slots him is as the family dummy.
