Let the flames start on my starting a new thread. (I've bypassed most of the negative ones that erupt whenever the Tigers aren't doing well, those that start them can bypass my 'thank you' one right now)
To any/all of the Tigers players who read this forum:
Thank you!
Thank you for playing with heart. Thank you for playing with tenacity. Thank you for showing people that teamwork is what moves mountains, not individual rewards. Thank you for showing us that people of different cultures can love and respect and live and work together through the best of times and worst of times.
Thank you most of all for making this the most fun summer I've had in years.
When you wake up this morning I hope that you can wipe away the fog of disappointment quickly and know that you collectively have an enormous amount to be proud of.

They certainly made my summer better. I enjoyed this season as much as I've ever enjoyed any regular season in any sport in a very long time. I'll enjoy the playoff games win or lose as much as any sporting event since the 1997 Stanley Cup Final. You never know, they might just keep surprising us for a few more weeks.
I've been a Tiger fan since 1961. Other than the 1987 team, this is my proudest moment as a Tiger fan. Last April, you tell me the Tigers are in the playoffs come October and I would ask you to buy me a round of whatever you are drinking.
Yes, there were some disappointing moments but there were more great moments than I can remember.
Bottom line on all of these post-season comments is your point of perspective. If your point of view is from September 23, the Tigers suck. I am looking at it from March 23 and the Tigers gave me one of my best seasons as a Tiger fan.
As a fellow poster stated, THANK YOU, TIGERS
Thanks, boys. I'd have never guessed in April that I'd be watching Tiger baseball in October. This will be a season that I'll always remember.

I'm proud to be a long time Tigers fan. This is the start of many years of competitive baseball again for the Tigers. I'm actually excited now. :)

For the first time in my adult life I have to worry about the Tiger playoff schedule and my work schedule. Since the day I graduated (1991) I've worried about missing games for stupid work. This is the first time it actually has become an issue.

Amid all the bitter negativity here lately, we really do need to step back and evaluate things.
Yes, this past week has been keenly disappointing.
Yes, I would have enjoyed the division championship.
Yes, I am worried about our sudden pitching woes going into the playoffs.
But...dammit, this has been one of the most inspiring Tiger seasons ever. 1984 doesn't count because they were expected to win. 1987 is a good analogy, because that team also wasn't expected to do much.
So, yes -- THANK YOU, Tigers. Every game I went to, win or lose, the Tiger players were out there busting their butts, giving the game everything they had (yes, even that horrid game Sunday).
Leyland had the boys playing hard all year. What more can we ask for?
Let's not be like Yankee fans. Let's appreciate what we have.

Thank You Tigers, after many years of 21 game packages and attending 25-30 games a year, you make the playoffs the year I move out of state. I hate flying but can't wait to hit the ground in Detroit for the 2 games this weekend! Go Tigers!

Yes, I'm still saddened by this weekend. But when I stop and think about the entire season, I cheer up. They have really given us something to cheer about day in and day out and we should be thankful. It's been soooo much worse for so long. Once that first pitch is thrown Tuesday, this past weekend will be forgotten.

Co-sign again. I will go to my grave never forgetting the smiles that the 2006 Detroit Tigers team gave me. I wish I could shake each of their hands individually (yes, even Todd Jones) and thank them personally from the bottom of my heart.

A bump is a thread someone posts in to bring it back up to the top of the page.
