May I ask why Rodney needs a replacement?
ask 100 people and they will give you 100 answers and they will never agree

Rodney's too wild for my liking. Give me another Todd Jones who does not walk people.

He's wild yes, but he most of the time gets the job done.

My list is shorter.
Verlander

Rogers

That's about it. Everyone else is trade bait in my opinion.

Except in real high pressure situations like Today. He is the biggest reason why we lost today. If we want to compete and make it to the playoffs in the future we can't keep people who can't deal with the pressure.

Monroe is mediocre overall. If they can replace him with someone productive I will be happy.
I think first base is the first place they need to look.

I agree that Brandon Inge needs to be replaced

Bonderman (He's gotta be mentally tougher though. He's a pansy. Every ball or bad call is such an overreaction)

I want Bonderman dealt for a big bat - Texas is supposed to be shopping Mark Teixeira for a top of the rotation starter...
I'd shorten OT's list by Carlos Guillen.

Everyone's dealable. Everyone has a price tag on them.

Why get rid of Guillen?

I don't trust his health, and I believe we could get a solid haul for him right now.

He would be nearly impossible to replace though.

Nah, NP-Rod is signed through next season.

I have a feeling that Rodney is going to be traded. Not just because of today or anything.
The fact that he is older and the fact that the Tigers could replace him with either a free agent or a young pitcher makes it an interesting decision.

I'll agree with the bolded half.
Rodney isnt that bad.

Rodney ended up being awful and every one that got really mad that Jones was the closer over him need to apologize right now. It's only fair.

I did. I've also mentioned before that I was wrong about bringing Jones to the team as a closer. I've also mentioned before that I'm quite happy to eat that crow.

I think Rodney will be dealt in a package deal - with Zumaya sliding into the set-up role for a year before replacing Jonsey as the closer.

Obviously anyone should be available of the price is right, but, here is who I would definitely want back...
Verlander
Zumaya
Guillen
Pudge
Polanco
It's not that I don't like the other guys, but I'd be more interested in looking for other options (someone like Magglio can't be changed obviously).
I would definitely keep Granderson on the list. He's cheap and only going to get better. He's worth more to us than he'd likely fetch in a trade. There's a very small handfull of CFers that I'd rather have than him and we aren't getting any of them.

Every time Rodney comes into a game I cringe. I never liked the guy and I am sure some of it has to due with his first game with the crooked hat. On a serious note, as long as they upgrade 1B and one other bat, I will be happy with that and the subtraction of Rodney.

I admit to being biased but I agree with this. Find a CF that can play the type of defense he does and hit for a decent clip for someone in his first full season. He needs to improve on his offense, but I am willing to give him a more extended look at his current cost.
He needs to up the OBP and ISO next season, but I think he will.
There are a few CFs I would rather have but there aren't a ton.
