Game 1:
M. Redman (0-1, 12.46) v.s. B. Radke (1-0, 6.97)

I have a feeling tonight it the night!

The Tigers hit well Wednesday, but really need to improve their hitting with runners in scoring position. I think they will win tonight's game and take 2 of 3 from the Twinkies in this series.

OK, I've said it twice in a row but this time I really, really, mean it. The losing streak comes to an abrupt end tonight with a 9-4 Tiger victory. Tiger fans, rejoice!

Redman isn't pitching the game of his life but he's getting the job done. Torii Hunter swang at a really bad looking pitch for that K of his.

Ever notice how shiney Koskie's helmet is and how dirty Mientkiewicz's helmet is.

RBI hit up the middle by Pierzynski. 0-1 Twins.

2-0 Twins after Torres loses the ball with the ceiling.

Ranger

Redman walks him and bases loaded with one out.

I jinxed him.

Ranger

Base hit for Guzman. RBI for Guzman. 3-0 Twins.

Todd

Ranger

Base hit again... 4-0 Twins. Redman is a bum!

Todd

the twins are station to stationing the tigers to death:(

Action in the bullpen already and its only the bottom of the second. I think I'm getting sick!

Redman is like a left-handed Chris Holt. But Holt's first start against Chicago, we actually won and Holt had a good outing.

Ranger

Ortiz down on strikes! 2 outs, 1 more to go to get out of the terrible inning.

Ranger
04-12-2002, 09:02 PM
And finally the inning is over!

Redman can't be a starter and neither can Lima - we need starters (who are good)!

Ranger

Two men on in the top of the 3rd with 1 out... lets see if Cruz can do something.

Todd
04-12-2002, 09:10 PM
nope he hit into a dp

Ranger
04-12-2002, 09:10 PM
And wouldn't you know... 4-6-3 double play.

Todd
04-12-2002, 09:13 PM

Ranger

Pull Redman now!! This guy is stinking up the Metrodome. I rather have Chris Holt on the mound than him.

Ranger
04-12-2002, 09:19 PM
Ahhh Higgy gets out of the inning. It was close though.

Ranger
04-12-2002, 09:23 PM
Triple for Higgy... BBC!

Todd
04-12-2002, 09:24 PM
BBC pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee score

Young strikes out...

He really battled Radke though, like a 10 pitch AB? The strikeout pitch look an inch off the plate, Radke got a generous call.

Shane gets a groundout RBI... 4-1 Twins.

Ranger

1-2-3 inning for Redman in the 4th... he needed that, the bum!

70 pitches through 4 IP - not good at all. 27 balls and 44 strikes.

Ranger
04-12-2002, 09:43 PM
RISP for Macias... lets hope he can do something.

But he doesn't... strikes out. Come on guys!

And Torres ends the Tigers chances by flying out to LF, stranded Salazar on 2nd.

I admit Redman has looked bad in his two starts but he is better than that. His first start was the cold season opener, and after spring training and opening the season in Tampa Bay along with playing in the metrodome in previous seasons the cold probablyhad an adverse effect on him. And then tonights game is against his former team, so he is probably thinking too much and trying to do too much - to show the Twinks what they are missing. Too bad he couldn't pull a Chris Webber when he thrashed the Pistons recently but redman isn't a superstar by any means but he is a servicable starter, plus he is a lefty.

We do however agree on Jose Lima. How has Griesinger been doing? Shane Loux?

Has Alou performed any miracles yet??

Seems like the boys are FINALLY taking alot of pitches. I'm impressed with that at least.

Ranger

Take away that 2nd inning and Redman looks decent.

He gets out of the 5th with no problem too.

Q: Who's the last hitter you want at the plate with 2 0n and 2 out, down by 3?

A: Randall Simon

Ranger
04-12-2002, 10:01 PM
Why is Simon starting at DH over Palmer, Fick, or Rivera? He swings at everything! Had a guy on 3rd and couldn't capitalize on that.

On a brighter note, looks like Shane is breaking out of his slump - multi-hit game with a RBI.

Salazar gets his first big league hit. My, we have a lot of Latin-American guys on this team now. Speaking of which, Torres drives in his 3rd run of the year with a foul out. 4-2 Twinks.

Radke is out of the game, BTW.

Redman really looks good since the 2nd. He's absolutely cruised since then.

04-12-2002, 10:41 PM
OK, top of the 9th. Can we get 3 runs??? (Or at least 2 for now?)

Gotta hope...

I'm really getting sick of this. I don't want to hear any crap about how they're playing better, getting better ABs, blah blah blah. I want a friggin win, dammit! You guys still suck.

Ranger
04-12-2002, 10:53 PM
Redman pitched pretty good besides during the 2nd. I said some bad stuff about him during the 2nd and when he was struggling after it.

Halter seems to be breaking out of his slump.
Why would you pinch hit Cruz for Magee when you have Fick on the bench?

at what point do you just say "screw it, i hope they go down as the worst team ever. At least it's charismatic"?

Ranger
04-12-2002, 11:36 PM
Anyone wanna join me in a hunger strike until we get a win???

Todd
