That'd be amazing.
He reminds me of Bill Gullickson. Gets good run support and will keep you in a game every time.
20? The guy is on pace for 28. Verlander and Maroth are both on pace for 20.
It's crazy.

i would like maroth to get 21 wins, the same number of losses he had back in 2003. now THAT would be cool. And kenny getting 20 to give the finger to all the other teams that passed on him in FA last winter.

If Maroth wins 20, I'd be eternally happy inside. Yah, The Gambler getting to 20 would be cool, but Mikey is ours, and we sat through 2003 and struggled with him, and I'd have to think Mike Maroth winning 20 would be one of the coolest things I'd ever seen in sports, much less the fact that he's such a good guy, on my team, during this great year....

wouldn't he be the only pitcher in history to lose 20 and win 20 in his career?

Oh no, lots of guys have done it. In fact some guys have won 20 or more and and lost 20 or more in the same year.
I'd guess Don Sutton, Mickey Lohlich maybe Steve Carlton.
edit: now I'm looking. Lolich, Carlton and Gaylord Perry have been both 20-game winners and losers, but not in the same year. Gaylord Perry was close, going 19-19 one year. I know there are some guys who did it. I'll keep looking.
edit2: Here's some -
Wilbur Wood, 1973, 24-20
Phil Niekro, 1979, 21-20

It would be a feather in Dombrowski's cap if Kenny wins 20. He's well on his way.

Kenny has faded the past two years as the season progresses....especially after the all star break.

A big part of that is age.
He has a lot of innings this first half but not a ton of pitches per start. Hopefully by keeping him under 100 per start they can keep him fresh. Our bullpen has been a huge help in this regard.
I won't hold his second half last season too much against him. He was stressed out over his own stupidity. Hopefully he doesn't have any blowups like that this year.

I knew that Wilbur Wood had done it, but I forgot about Niekro. Both of them knuckleballers of course. How many innings did they pitch in those years?
