He makes more in one year than everyone that posted to this thread so far will make in a lifetime combined. Or something close to that :)

Why does Leyland play Ordonez in RF and the defensively better Gomez at DH?

Ya know, if my wife would let me take that gigolo job I'm sure I could pull down as much as Magglio.

“I told you I needed to feed my family,” <strike>Sprewell</strike> Magglio said at a press conference yesterday. “They offered me 7 years at $105 million. That’s not going to cut it. And I’m not going to sit here and continue to give my children food while this front office takes money out of my pocket. If [owner Mike] Illitch wants to see my family fed, he better cough up some money. Otherwise, you’re going to see these kids in one of those Sally Struthers commercials soon.”

how does this trade sound to you guys... package up magglio and robertson and a prospect... shoot for cabrera if you can... if florida only wants prospects, then get what we can get

There is no way that anyone is ever going to trade for Magglio and his contract.

To be honest, I like the guy. He's not doing horribly this year thus far. My biggest concern is that he remains healthy.

I think he's a neat player though. He's doing decently in the outfield so far - even though Gomez is the better fielder. To me, for some reason, it looks like he's about to cry whenever he's at the plate. Maybe it's just his facial structure or something. But I always think "Poor li'l guy" when he's at the plate. Maybe I'm insane, or maybe I'm just reacting to all the pressure the dude is under with that contract.

I'm gonna go with insane.

I'm certainly not on the 'Hate Mags Bandwagon' (though I've always felt he was ill-suited to play in Comerica park), but if this is the start of fans turning against him, I sure hope he stays happy and says all the right things. If Mags were to pop-off one time about not being happy or pretty much anything really, I think fans would burn him in effigy (a la Bobby Higginson).

Ordonez might be the new guy to hate in this town. You can already feel this board turning.
