The eldest son of Mike and Marian Ilitch was arrested late Thursday or early Friday for solicitation in a prostitution sting, Wayne County prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Ronald Ilitch, 47, solicited an undercover sheriff's deputy posing as a prostitute. Details of when and where the arrest occurred were not available Saturday.
Maria Miller, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, confirmed the arrest Saturday but said she had no further information. Miller said Ilitch's car was impounded.
John Roach, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, declined comment Saturday because Ronald Ilitch had not yet been formally charged or arraigned.
Mike Ilitch founded Little Caesars pizza chain in suburban Detroit in 1959. The family's business holdings now include the Detroit Red Wings, the Tigers, the Fox Theatre and Hockeytown Cafe
edit: and a vacant lot where the Madison Lennox once stood
