Has anyone been watching this show created by Morgan Spurlock called "30 Days"? It's on Bravo.
Episode 1 had him and his girlfriend trying to make it on minimum wage for 30 days. I found it fascinating.
Episode 2 had a guy in LA taking steriods and human growth hormone plus 42 vitamin supplements a day to find the "fountain of youth." He stopped after 21 days when he became aggressive, developed liver disfunction and his sperm count went to zero.
His storytelling is fascinating and thought provoking.

The first episode was very entertaining. I could have done without the talk about Kennedy wanting to raise the minimum wage, like that will solve all of their problems.
I believe it is on FX and not Bravo.

The only thing that bothers me about things like this is a that everything quite often things are taken to an extreme to try and prove a point about how a certain something is terrible. I think the best example I could find was a radio report I heard years ago about a bunch of people who were trying to get PVC plasic banned after it was found to cause cancer in lab mice. Only thing was, they were massively force feeding these mice the plastic. Feeding it too them! PVC isn't a food, and even if the occasional person ingests some accidentially there would be almost no chance that he or she would be taking it in dangerous levels.
I think Super Size Me falls into that catagory. No one has ever said that Fast Food was terribly healthy. If all you eat is McDonalds food day after day after day, and then eat too much of it, and then don't do a thing to exercise, it's not too suprising to me that you're going to end up very unhealthy. But the same can be said about just about anything. If all you drink, ever, is coffee, it's gonna be bad for you. If all you eat, ever, is chocolate, it's gonna be bad for you. If all you do, ever, is run 16 hours a day, it's gonna be bad for you.
Ecclesiastes is a very interesting book in the Bible. It deals with the whole idea that too much of a good thing can be bad for you. Moderation is the key to life.

I caught the minimum wage episode and found it very interesting. I missed last Wednesday's edition. (I wish FX would re-run it)
Gotta set the TIVO for a season pass.

"There are plenty of people, doctors included, who have a lot of time and energy invested in believing that certain types of food are "bad" for you, and I'm sure they are just horrified at my dietary adventures under the Golden Arches. Unfortunately, no matter what my results, these people and "experts" are far more interested in controlling our eating habits using fear and confusion rather than educating people about good dietary habits. Me & Mickey D is a threat to those who rely on knee-jerk response to control the public mind set"

Often, scare tactics are the most effective.
