As the Mud Hens begin the 2006 season today, manager Larry Parrish sees at least one similarity between this year's team and last season's squad that claimed the International League's Governors' Cup.
"Having guys who can play multiple positions was a strength of last year's club," Parrish said. "We lost guys, but we had other guys we could plug in - [Mike] Hessman and [Kevin] Hooper playing the outfield, the infield shuffling with [Jack] Hannahan moving from third to second, then he and [Jason] Smith playing first base after we lost [Chris] Shelton and [Carlos] Pena to the big leagues."
