sportz4life WOW..guy hits one fastball and he's breaking out of it. Every other hit recentlly was off an offspeed pitch..dont get to excited. Let's revisit this in about 2 weeks after he has hit the ball hard off some righthanded pitchers that throw hard.

(sorry guys, don't know how to do a double quote!)

Agree with both points. My concern with Maggs is that he seems to have lost bat speed. Loss of bat speed can be either loss of physical ability or loss of onfidence. Only the coaching staff could predict wich is the issue. If he has lost bat speed due to physical ability, he is done. His age is when players typically lose bat speed due to physical ability.

If the coaches think it is a simple mater of loss of confidence due to personal issues (wife) or just a bad stretch that Major Leaguers have at times... the issue becomes much more difficult to figure out. You want to show confidence in your player, but you don't want a bad streak due to lack of confidence run right into a streak due to loss of ability.....

I still need to see more production from Maggs.... I will be looking for Maggs to pull the ball more, more screaming line drives to left. I don't care if they are caught, I just need to see his bat speed get around on a good fastball!
